Timber options
Choose the right board for the job.
Spotted Gum
One of Australia's most popular deck timbers — naturally durable, hard-wearing, and a beautiful natural grain that oils up beautifully. Suits the Peninsula lifestyle perfectly.
Blackbutt
Slightly lighter than spotted gum with a clean, attractive grain. Takes stain and oil well. Popular for entertainer decks where a clean, contemporary look is wanted.
Merbau (Kwila)
Rich reddish-brown tropical hardwood. Extremely dense and durable — handles moisture well and weathers gracefully. Excellent for elevated or coastal applications.
Treated Pine
The most cost-effective option. Modern H3/H4 treated pine, properly installed and maintained, will give you years of reliable service. Best for ground-level decks where budget is a priority.
