Composite is typically 20–40% more expensive than treated pine and comparable to high-end hardwoods. Factor out 10–20 years of annual maintenance and composite often works out the same or cheaper overall.
Appearance
Quality composite today is visually excellent — realistic grain, warm tones, professional finish. Premium products are hard to distinguish from hardwood at a glance.
Feel underfoot
